Stunning Pixel 4 renders have us excited for Google’s upcoming smartphone

Google is expected to launch the Pixel 4 later in the year. So far in terms of design, the Pixel phones haven't really undergone any drastic changes and it is unclear if this could be the year we can expect something new, or if it could simply be more of the same but with some modifications made here and there.

Now thanks to a series of renders shared on Twitter by Phone Designer, we now have a better idea of what the upcoming Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones could look like. Now a quick disclaimer: these are not "leaks" of the upcoming phone, but rather they are renders of a mockup by Phone Designer that are based on the rumored features that have been floating around the internet.

One of those rumors we've heard in the past is that Google could opt to ditch the notch for the Pixel 4. These renders clearly depict that and have given the phones a hole-punch display similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S10 (whether or not this is better boils down to personal preference). There are two versions shown: one with a dual front-facing camera and one with a single front-facing camera, which we assume are the Pixel 4 XL and Pixel 4 respectively.

Apart from the hole-punch display, the rest of the phone's design seems to be pretty similar to that of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Whether or not the 2019 Pixels will actually end up looking like this remains to be seen, but we certainly wouldn't complain if they did. In the meantime, there have been other rumors suggesting that the Pixel 4 could borrow some modular design elements from Project Ara.
