Pocophone F2 spotted on benchmarks with Snapdragon 855

Last year Xiaomi launched the Pocophone F1. Its price tag made it seem like it was just another budget phone, but looking closer it actually came with some pretty impressive hardware specs that rivaled some of the flagship smartphones launched in 2018, but at a fraction of the price.

It's probably safe to assume that the Pocophone F2 could be launched this year and now thanks to a recent Geekbench sighting, some of the specs of the upcoming handset has been revealed. As expected, it will be featuring the use of flagship hardware like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset. It also appears to be packing 4GB of RAM, which is admittedly lower than some of the other flagships out there, but it should still be more than sufficient.

It also seems that it is running on Android Q, which is a nice touch as we would have expected it to run on at least Android 9.0 Pie. That being said, it is unclear how accurate this benchmark is since benchmarks can be faked, so it's probably best to take it with a grain of salt for now.

At this point in time, we're not sure what other changes Xiaomi could be making to the Pocophone F2 over the F1. One of the criticisms of the F1 was its camera and hopefully, the F2 will improve upon it, but we'll have to wait. The F1 was launched in August 2018 so there is a good chance we'll have a bit of waiting to do before the F2 eventually launches.

In the meantime, there are rumors that there could be an even more budget version of the Pocophone F1 in the form of the Pocophone F1 Lite.
