Images of foldable Moto RAZR leak, get us excited

The Motorola RAZR was a cultural icon and still remains in the minds and hearts of phone enthusiasts, and it looks like the brand's comeback is going to be very exciting. The device has leaked in some new shots and it looks strikingly similar to the original in the best of ways.

The flip phone has the same style outer display and chin, with what looks to be a fingerprint sensor in the chin. It seems to be small and fits well in the hand, but inside is a massive and tall foldable display.

There are some similarities to the Galaxy Fold, including the hinge (and hopefully not the hinge gaps), but it looks like the outer display isn't meant to be used as a main display. Instead of seems to show information and notifications. The inner display is small enough to use one handed. The camera on the front will be used for selfies on the outer display and as the main camera using the inner display.

Some specs also leaked for the device. It's allegedly going to have a Snapdragon 710 processor, a 6.2-inch OLED inner display, a 600×800 outer display, a 2,730 mAh battery, and a choice of 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage.

The device seems to be at the higher end of mid-range, especially with one camera and that small battery. This makes the rumored price of $1500 hard to swallow, but it substantially undercuts both Samsung and Huawei. Foldable tech is still young so prices are high. Nonetheless, the design looks stunning and we're so excited to see what Motorola has to show us on November 13th.

The Pixel 4 holds it own against the iPhone 11 Pro in head-to-head speed test

Apple's iPhones have never had bleeding-edge hardware o the inside, but the new A13 Bionic chip is incredibly fast and outperforms the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 in nearly every benchmark. But to see how the latest iPhone holds up, we thought it would be interesting to see it go head-to-head in a speed test against the new Pixel 4 from Google.

Pixel 4 versus OnePlus 7 Pro speed test: unexpected misstep

As far as RAM goes, the Google Pixel 4 does has a slight advantage with its 6GB compared to the 4GB inside the iPhone 11 Pro. That being said, the two operating systems are completely different, so that number really isn't relevant.

The title of the article doesn't really give away the final result of the speed test, but the Pixel 4 definitely performed a lot better than we were expecting. Take a look at the video and let us know what you think.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite could be in the works

Earlier this year when the Samsung Galaxy S10 was launched, the company launched a cheaper variant of the phone known as the Galaxy S10e, but it seems that the Galaxy S10e might not be the only cheaper version of the Galaxy S10 because thanks to a sighting on Geekbench, there could be a Galaxy S10 Lite in the works.

According to the Geekbench results, it was revealed that the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and comes with 8GB of RAM. It also comes with Android 10 onboard, suggesting that this is not an older device. Those are actually pretty decent specs so we're not sure different it would be from the regular Galaxy S10, or why it would be considered a "Lite" model.

It has even been rumored that the phone might come with a triple camera setup, something that we don't usually see on budget handsets. It is possible that the display could be the more budget side of the phone, where it has been rumored that it could feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ screen.

Take these benchmark results with a grain of salt for now and hopefully we'll have more details soon, but it does seem a bit odd for Samsung to announce the phone so late into the year.

Pixel 4 versus OnePlus 7 Pro speed test: unexpected misstep

The OnePlus 7 Pro is an incredible device, outperforming nearly every other Android smartphone we've tested this year. The reason for that is simple – OnePlus crammed in all the best hardware it could get its hands on, delivering a phone which makes most other devices look inferior in nearly every way. On the other side of the spectrum, you have the new Pixel 4 from Google. As you might expect, Google's focus with its 2019 flagship smartphone is mainly on the software experience, though the hardware has need upgraded a little from last year's Pixel 3.

Pixel 4 review: reclaiming the crown

The Pixel 4 and OnePlus 7 Pro are both running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chips, but that's where the similarities between these two phones end. OnePlus has blessed the 7 Pro with a mind-bending 12GB of RAM and has given it UFS 3.0 storage which gives is a nice advantage when it comes to sequential read and write speeds. The Pixel 4 only has 6GB of RAM and it's running basic UFS 2.0 storage which does put it at a big disadvantage when you're simply looking at the numbers. But since this is a speed test, we'll see how the internal components actually hold up when going head-to-head.

Take a look at the Pixel 4 versus OnePlus 7 Pro speed test video below and let us know what you think. The results may surprise you.

How to keep your Android device secure

With smartphones governing our lives, mobile security has gained a paramount amount of concern. These days, the majority of users depend on their mobiles for almost everything; financial docs, photos, calendars, appointments, messages and much more. As such, choosing a particular OS to work with has its own advantages and pitfalls. The way an OS is designed largely impacts how secure your device is. Android has the biggest share (almost 85 percent) in the marketplace compared to iOS (resting at 15 percent). If that sounds impressive, you should know that Android success also makes it the number one target for hackers and criminals at large. Before we take a look at the security options for the Android side, lets mull over iOS for a while.

iOS security

If you are an iOS user, chances are, you are less susceptible to virus attacks compared to Android, due to Apple's walled-garden approach which doesn't allow users much freedom. That being said, iOS still has its vulnerabilities which allow its users to fall prey to hackers prying on your sensitive information that includes the likes of web logins, text messages, photos and videos along with multiple email addresses. Hence, it's always a wise call to invest in the best antivirus for iPhone

For iOS and Android, there are still a few basic steps that can be taken care of to shield your phone against unwanted threats, viruses, and malware, but installing an anti-virus service is something that most people should consider. Here we will take a look at what are the things that you do to keep your Android device secure.

Enabling Two-factor authentication

Hands down, the first approach towards security for Android devices begins with securing your Google account. It's apparent because your Google account is one such place that stores and sync all your data. The more you use services from Google, the more vital it becomes. Now, there are several options to go for when you enable the two-factor authentication for your account. You can even choose to go for a simple text message, which by comparison is one of the least secure methods and not often recommended. But, it's still worthy. If you are really keen to take this up a notch, you might as well consider a U2F key. For instance, Titan Security Key bundles from Google that offers protection from phishing to users who are of high value, like IT admins. For newbies, you can locate the Two-factor authentication settings right under My Account where you need to turn on the 2-Step verification.

Pro Tip: While you are logged in to your account, it's always recommended that you run a security check all over. Start with recent events related to security if any, modify or remove phone numbers if they are no longer associated with you and check devices that show logged in and remove them if need be.

Turn on "Find My Phone"

Losing your phone is a terrible thing. In majority cases, they can't be traced back and no matter what you do, getting back your device in fine shape is almost zero. Keeping "Find My Phone" turned on helps you in such worse scenarios where you can consider resetting your device remotely before someone else can access your personal information. Thanks to Google, all modern-day Android devices come with a default option where "Find my Phone' is turned on right from the very beginning. If not, move to Settings. Select Google. Then, click on security and move the slider to turn on Find My Phone. Apart from just tracking your device, there are other things that you might be able to do with "Find My Phone" turned on.

Lock Screen Matters

While most prefer using a screen lock for our Android devices, there still some who take it easy and refrain from adding another step when they have to use their phone. Now, this might sound easy because it will save you time from having to unlock your device and then make a call or whatever, but doing so definitely puts you a level down on underlying security. Remember, a lock screen is looked upon as the very first line of defense for a smartphone, and hence you should never ignore it under any circumstances.

Pro Tip: If you are using a smartphone that has a fingerprint scanner, ensure you add your fingerprint as well to fasten up the unlocking process, while still keeping your device secure. And don't forget to add your fingerprint if your phone has a scanner, too—here are a few tips to make it as accurate as possible.

Disabling 'Developer Mode" and "Unknown Sources"

If you have fiddled with Android devices before, you should know about "Developer Mode" and "Unknown Sources 'already. In newer versions of Android smartphones, it might exist as "Install Unknown Apps". As the name suggests, when you have this option turned on, it allows one to install apps that might not be from Google Play Store. The process is technically called "Sideloading" and although the latest Android updates (post-release of Oreo) vouch for safety, it wise to keep it disabled. If you are using an Android device that runs on version 8.0, which is before Oreo, you can follow the navigation below to disable "Unknown Sources".

  • Go to "Settings"
  • Click "Security"
  • Click on "Unknown Sources" and choose to turn it off.

For devices that are running Oreo or even higher versions like Android Pie (ver. 9.0), one has to disable the same for every single app. The navigation is as follows:

  • Go to "Settings"
  • Select "Apps"
  • Select "Special Access"
  • Turn off "Install Unknown Apps"

For users who have turned on the developer mode by off chance, but have no clue how to put it to use or depend on its features, it's probably good to turn it off. For Android devices running on lower versions than Oreo, the navigation is as follows:

  • Go to "Settings"
  • Select "Developer Options"
  • Slide the switch to turn it off.

For devices running on higher versions of Android:

  • Go to "Settings"
  • Click on "System"
  • Click "Developer Options"

Google Play Protect

Since Oreo got released, Google packed in a new feature alongside called Play Protect. Simply put, Play Protect is a security system that is powered by Cloud and is set to auto scan and always remains on without any need of intervention from the user. It functions to keep away any app that is malicious for your phone and also silently scans any apps that you might have installed via side loading. Here's how you can check settings for Play Protect:

  • Go to "Settings"
  • Click on 'Google" And Select "Security and then click on "Play Protect."
  • Ensure it's turned on for all apps installed.

So, you see, securing your Android device isn't that difficult if you follow certain simple rules. All it takes is just a few tweaks here and there that can bring you absolute peace of mind and make the most out of your device without having to worry; in case it gets lost, stolen or run into any security issue.

Samsung’s next Galaxy Fold could sport a clamshell design

It is widely believed that Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Fold 2 in 2020, but what kind of shape or design it will take is anyone's guess. Could it be that Samsung might adopt a design similar to the Huawei Mate X? Or could Samsung simply choose to refine the current design?

Or maybe, Samsung could be looking to try something else entirely. This seems to be a very real possibility because in a video Samsung shared on YouTube, it has sparked a media frenzy in which many are speculating that the company could have just teased the design of its next foldable phone.

This design is very different from the current Galaxy Fold's design because it is adopting a clamshell shape. This means that it will look like a flip phone from back in the day, except that it now comes with a foldable display on the inside. If you're wondering why this sounds familiar, it is because it is largely believed that Motorola could also be planning on launching a foldable phone with a similar design, one that we're actually pretty excited for.

As we mentioned in our earlier article, foldable phones are still new and they have the luxury of being something our smartphones are not, so why not go a bit crazy with the designs, right? In any case, Motorola's foldable phone is expected to be announced next month so we should have a better idea of what to expect then, and whether or not Samsung would be wise to pursue a similar design.

Google will not be opening up its Motion Sense API anytime soon

While the concept of being able to interact with our phones isn't exactly new, it's with the Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL that we really started to see the technology take shape in the feature known as Motion Sense. If you were hoping that you would see more apps take advantage of the technology, you might have to wait.

This is because when Google was asked if they had plans to open up its Motion Sense API to third-party developers, Google said that they had no plans right now, but they will announce something should they change their mind. It is unclear why Google is keeping Motion Sense to themselves for now, but it is possible that due to regulatory issues, Google is keeping the leash extremely short while they figure things out.

Alternatively, Google might be still be exploring the full extent of Motion Sense before deciding whether or not it would be prudent to allow third-party developers access to it, lest some of them end up abusing the tech. That being said, it should be noted that there are a handful of third-party apps that already take advantage of the tech, but it is extremely small and limited.

For those wondering about Motion Sense, this is a feature in the Pixel 4 smartphones that rely on radar to sense motion. This was originally developed under Google's Project Soli, so this is the first time we're seeing it put to practical use.

Razer takes the wraps off Hammerhead true wireless earbuds and Junglecat mobile gaming controller

When it comes to gaming accessories and peripherals, Razer is a name that we're sure many are familiar with, and today, the company has taken the wraps off a couple of new accessories that we're sure that gamers might be interested in. This includes a pair of true wireless earbuds in the form of the Razer Hammerhead True Wireless earbuds, and the Junglecat mobile gaming controller.

Starting with the Hammerhead True Wireless earbuds, according to Razer, these earbuds have been designed with gamers in mind. It relies on a Bluetooth 5.0 connection that is capable of delivering low-latency audio, meaning that the delay between what gamers are seeing on the screen and what they are hearing should be low enough where it won't affect them.

There will also be a Gaming Mode that is said to reduce latency to as low as 60ms. The earbuds will sport 13mm drivers and offers up a 3-hour battery life, and comes with a charging case that will be capable of charging it about an additional four more times, bringing its total battery life to 15 hours.

Next up will be the Razer Junglecat. Playing games on mobile can sometimes be less than ideal due to the lack of physical controls, but Razer is hoping to solve that by taking some design cues from Nintendo. The Junglecat features a pair of controllers, one on each side that can be attached to the included smartphone case to allow gamers to game on the go.

Alternatively, there is also a controller grip if gamers wish to use it in a more traditional format where it can also be paired with Windows PCs. The controller is rated for over 100 hours, so it should last you a while before needing a recharge.

The dual-screen LG G8X is heading to Sprint on November 8th!

The dual-screen LG G8X is officially making its way to Sprint customers on November 8th. While the folding smartphone is dramatically different than what Samsung is offering with the Galaxy Fold, the LG G8X and its detachable second display offer just as much power and versatility. The phone is rocking a 6.4-inch display, a SD855, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a 4,000 mAh battery and a dual-camera system on the back with a standard and ultra-wide sensor.

The phone will be selling for $31.21 per month with Sprint's 18-month Flex leas program, but if you're eligible for an upgrade, a new customer or simply want to add a new line, you can get the phone for $15 per month. To sweeten the deal, Sprint is also throwing in the second display accessory for free. The limited-time offer will run through January 9th, but Sprint customers will need to redeem the offer after they purchase the device and it could take up to six weeks for the second display to show up.

We had an opportunity to play with the phone at IFA back in September. While the device wasn't quite ready for primetime, the software configurations that LG was showing off with the second display seemed to be a lot more appealing that what Samsung is offering with the Galaxy Fold. Granted, the two devices are completely different in their design and execution, but they both deliver a much larger and more versatile display configuration than most smartphones.

Three Reasons to Play at Online Casinos

Are you a gambling fan who avoids online casinos? Discover our article, and you will change your mind and think about this popular online leisure. There is no doubt that brick-and-mortar gambling houses attract many amateurs by their charm. It is difficult to replace the excitement to hold the poker cards or pull the lever of a slot machine. Nevertheless, there are still considerable benefits of online games, which make them worth playing. Discover three reasons which will clear your mind of doubts and convince to try playing at an online casino.

1. Casino Games Without Time Limits

Probably, in Las Vegas, there should be surely some gambling houses available 24/7. However, a player has to spend time to go there, wait for his turn to play games. If you visit an online casino, you will appreciate the time flexibility, which is not offered at land-based casinos. To play your favorite games, you do not need to leave your office and come home. Due to high-quality mobile platforms, you can enjoy your gambling on the go or wherever you want. Mobile casinos come with the same features that desktop casinos. So, you can use your mobile device, play for free or for real money and get bonuses on your deposits.

If you like playing casino games to relax after the stressful working day, online casinos will be your best choice. There, you can play late at night without any limits or early in the morning while preparing your breakfast. And nothing can prohibit you from playing whatever game you prefer during your dinner break.

2. Creative and Exciting Game Design

One of the biggest advantages of online games is their creative design. While playing online slots, you will enjoy fantastic animations and exciting themes (ancient civilizations, adventure, popular blockbusters, etc.), which will allow you to forget all your problems and have a fun time. Switch from one theme to another without any efforts, and you will get unforgettable emotions. Due to numerous bonus features in slots (Wilds, Scatters, multipliers, bonus rounds, etc.), playing the same game will never tire you out. If you are looking for top-rated online casinos available in France to play slot machines, we recommend you visit casinosenligne.com.

If you prefer playing traditional casino games (such as roulette, poker, craps, scratch cards, or blackjack), you will be impressed with a wide selection of fantastic titles. You still need to learn some rules to avoid considerable expenses. If you play for the first time, we recommend making small bets and then, after some winnings, to increase step by step the amount of your bets. Thus, you will be protected against big faults.

3. Highest Safety Standards

The most significant prejudice related to online casinos resides in the fact that they fleece players of all their money and transfer their personal and banking information to third parties. And these suspicions are not groundless. Sometimes, casinos play tricks on their clients. To protect you against such situations, we recommend playing on legit and certified gambling websites which are regularly audited by reputable gambling companies.

Moreover, it is better to make all your deposits using payment gateways instead of providing the gambling house directly with your banking information. In case if any issue appears, your private data will be secure, and you will be able to solve the problems with the payment platform.

You might soon be able to edit Google Assistant queries

Digital assistants like Google Assistant are incredibly handy when you need to find out certain things, but as humans, we do make mistakes from time to time when we make a query to the AI. This usually means that we will need to repeat our question again, which could slow the entire process down.

The good news is that Google might have an answer to that in the form of editing. This is according to a report from PhoneArena who discovered that making edits to queries could soon become a feature of Google Assistant. As you can see in the screenshots below, when asked about the time in a certain location, that location is underlined with the option to edit.

Tapping the edit feature will then allow users to change the name of the location to somewhere else, in which the response will also change accordingly. Note that this feature isn't actually available yet and that not all devices are seeing it, so it is possible that Google is testing it out for now.

Also, users can only change the variable, which in this case is the location, as opposed to the entire query. This means that you can't edit your question from a "what time is it" to a "what is the weather". It is still pretty useful, especially in the event that Google Assistant fails to understand you correctly.

Samsung Galaxy S11’s design has reportedly been finalized

In 2020, there is a good chance that we can look forward to the Samsung Galaxy S11 being announced in the early part of the year. At the moment, it is really anyone's guess as to what the phone could look like, but if a tweet by leakster Ice Universe is to be believed, it seems that the design of the phone has already been finalized and confirmed.

The timing makes sense because if the phone were to be launched in the early part of 2020, Samsung would definitely need to make sure that all the details are finalized already so that production can begin. Unfortunately, the leakster did not provide any photos or renders of the phone, so at the moment, it is still really anyone's guess, but we should be able to expect leaks in the coming weeks and months leading up to its announcement.

We have heard some rumored specs about the upcoming phone, such as how it could sport a 108MP sensor with 5x optical zoom. We have also heard a very interesting rumor about how Samsung could be looking to merge both the Galaxy S series and Note series together, where the end product could end up being a hybrid of both devices.

Whether or not that is true remains to be seen, but if it is, then maybe we can expect to see the S Pen make its way into the Galaxy S11 next year, or whatever the phone will be called. Until then, do take this with a grain of salt.

Google has submitted a bid to buy Fitbit

Google has it eyes fixed on a slice of the crowded market of fitness trackers and smartwatches, people familiar with the matter said on Monday 28th October 2019 that Alphabet Inc has made an offer to acquire U.S. wearable device maker Fitbit Inc

While Google has joined other major technology companies such as Apple Inc and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd in developing smart phones, it has yet to develop any wearable offerings of their own.

There is no certainty that the negotiations between Google and Fitbit will lead to any deal, the sources said, asking not to be identified because the matter is confidential. The exact price that Google has offered for Fitbit could not be learned.

Google and Fitbit declined to comment. This is a developing story.

NVIDIA’s new Shield TV & Shield TV Pro finally make their official debut

When it comes to set-top boxes, there are many to choose from, with Apple TV being a particularly popular choice, but if you'd rather not buy into Apple's ecosystem, NVIDIA's Shield TV is actually a pretty popular alternative. It has been a while since the company last updated its lineup, but it looks like they finally have where they are also introducing a new model.

Starting with the Shield TV, this will be the base model that NVIDIA will be offering to customers. For the most part, it is still very much the same Shield TV that many of us have come to know and love, but the most obvious difference would be its design, where the company has opted to make it a tubular-shaped device. It will also be cheaper where it is priced at $149.

Next would be the NVIDIA Shield TV Pro, which in terms of design, seems to have more in common with its predecessors, giving it a more console-like appearance. It will also support Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision HDR, an upgrade over previous Shield TV models. Both the Shield TV and Shield TV Pro will be powered by NVIDIA's Tegra X1+ chipset, but the Pro model will offer up slightly more RAM at 3GB and more storage at 16GB, versus the Shield TV which comes with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage.

There is also the addition to two USB 3.0 ports on the Shield Pro which will give users more options when it comes to attaching accessories and peripherals. It will be priced slightly higher at $199. Both devices are also expected to come with the Shield TV Remote.

3 Top Reasons why Referral Programs get New Customers

The referral program is a marketing technique that provides what your subscription company needs i.e., generate more revenue from your existing customers.

Referral Marketing versus Lead Generation

Many people often compare referral marketing programs to lead generation, which is more of playing with concepts. While lead generation brings you contacts that take time to nurture as customers, referral programs generate leads and consistent customers through the existing ones. As the most trusted advertising source, referral marketing uses your pre-existing customers to not only promote your business brand but also have their friends as your new customers.

How Referral Program Works

Assuming you bought a referral program platform that worth $2,500 per month and your campaign generates 100 new customers in the first month, then your cost per customer will be $25. If after that, you optimize your campaign in the following month and gain 500 referred customers. Consequently, your cost per customer will reduce to $5. You can visit Talkable blog here to read more.

Pre-Existing Customers For Referral Marketing

Using customers as brand educators is an effective marketing strategy if you have built a trusting relationship with them. This is supported by Nielsen's report, which shows 84% of the people examined claimed they trust personal recommendations.

Furthermore, the probability that a customer will make a referral in a given week increases with their current usage intensity and decreases with their experience level as well as the length of their inactive periods. In evaluating 52 weeks of customer referral data, the NYU Stern Professors, Mazime Cohen and Anindya Ghose discovered that customer's experience is closely related to the quality of referrals. Hence, the bigger the experience of customers sharing the offer, the higher the quality of referrals.

Customers remain the driving force of a subscription company. For these businesses to improve and achieve success, they need to focus on practical ways to acquire and retain customers. E-commerce stores, for instance, can apply pricing strategies even though it is one of the most underestimated areas of online shopping. This is going to be a topic for another post!

Why Do Referrals Get The Best Subscribers?

Referred Customers are Less Likely to Turnover

Customer retention and loyalty are two imperatives that help customers stick to a brand. For subscription services, loyal and active customers are vital to your present and future success.

According to the State of Referral Marketing, 78% of surveyed respondents said customers acquired through referral programs tend to be more loyal to brands more quickly than customers gotten from other different marketing channels. Another study conducted by the Wharton School also showed that rewarded referrals had a much lower turnover than unrewarded referrals. Their churn rate was also found to be 18% lower compared to other customer types. In fact, referred customers had an 82% chance of still being active customers after 33 months.

To expand your subscription business and boost your revenue, you must be able to retain your customers by lowering subscriber's turnover rate. Not only will the referred customer retention be higher, but it will also be more resilient. With that said, referral marketing has the ability to bring you more customers that are loyal, making it the perfect marketing technique for the subscription industry.

Referred Customers have a Lower Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)

Customer acquisition cost (CAC) is the amount of money you spent to get a new customer. Unlike digital channels that charge based on the number of conversions, clicks or impressions, referral marketing generates high paying customers at a lower fixed rate.

Before now, Click-Through-Rate (CTR) or the percentage of people that clicked on an ad was the major metric. Marketers were looking for effective ways to optimize ads in a way that it gets the maximum number of clicks. From scammy copy to flashy designed images, they were applying different techniques to play an A-game.

In the year 2019, the average CTR rate for paid ads continues to depreciate compared to 2018, Q4, where the numbers were fifteen times lower than usual. While paid ads can help your brand to gain awareness, referral marketing program reduces your CAC cost in an ongoing process, plus maximize your ROI to boost your business efficiently. In a simple term, the whole process can be explained thus: old customers bring new customers at a considerably reduced cost.

Generally, referral program expenses are connected to your reward costs, customer referral technology, plus your employee headcount, committed to the referral channel. But with Talkable, you can choose to work with our team of friendly customer support to help you create, optimize, test, and manage your referral campaigns. Thus, the better the performance of your referral program, the lower your CAC will be.

Referred Customers Have a Higher Customer Lifetime Value (CLV)

Referral consumers are found to have a 16% higher lifetime value. They are exceedingly valuable to subscription companies due to their high engagement, low cost, and many repeat purchases. Referral marketing works better because your existing customers are vetting your prospective customers. When a customer wants to share your brand, they would think of those people they know that will not only like your product but also make a purchase. Consequently, your company generates better-quality leads.

Final thought

Now is the time to reward your customers for referrals. Customer referral marketing is an exceptional strategy for subscription companies. Unfortunately, only 30% of companies are currently using referral marketing today. Its major benefit to subscription businesses is that it helps you grow your revenue by 86% more over two years period. Referred customers have a higher lifetime value, are more loyal, and cheaper to acquire. Overall, referred customers are 25% more valuable than non-referred customers.

If you want to learn about Talkable or start your subscription referral program, do not hesitate to tell us here.

Get the latest and greatest OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro for massive discounts!

The OnePlus 7T is here and the reviews are fantastic. It takes everything great from the more expensive OnePlus 7 Pro, sans the motorized camera, and puts it into a flagship-level phone that goes for $600. You get a 6.55-inch 90Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of base storage, a 3,800 mAh battery, and a triple rear camera setup. All this for $599 is a compelling offer.

But if you're down for grabbing an international version, you can save yourself a huge chunk of money with this deal! The higher end 8GB RAM/256GB storage model is currently on sale for $599.99, but if you use the code "GBOP7TG8256" at checkout, it'll be dropped to just $508.99. That's crazy cheap for flagship specs!

Unfortunately, the OnePlus 7T is our only official option in the US. The higher end OnePlus 7T Pro is not available here, but you can still pick up an international model. If you want the forbidden fruit of the US, grab the OnePlus 7T Pro for only $718.99 with the coupon code GBOP7TP8256! The Pro model loses the notch for a motorized camera and gets a bump from 1080p+ resolution to a 1440p+ panel that's 0.12-inches larger. You also get a 3x zoom camera instead of 2x and a larger 4,085 mAh battery.

Be sure to check the band compatibility, as once in a while you might be losing out on a few bands when you import international models. Otherwise, hit the links above to grab your new OnePlus smartphone!

AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon will be working together to replace SMS with RCS

For a while now, Google has tried to get US carriers to hop on board the RCS train, and it looks like we are finally seeing some progress. In a joint press venture, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon have all announced that they will be working together on what they are calling the "Cross-Carrier Messaging Initiative".

This will effectively see all the major carriers make some major steps towards eventually replacing SMS with RCS. This initiative is expected to help "Create a single seamless, interoperable RCS experience across carriers, both in the U.S. and globally."

In case you're wondering what is the big deal, basically, SMS technology has been around for decades. While it gets the job done, it feels clunky compared to instant messengers, especially since for the most part, it only sends text messages. This is versus instant messengers like WhatsApp or Apple's iMessage which allows users to send more media-rich messages.

This won't just benefit consumers as it is also expected to help businesses as well. Right now, we're seeing some businesses turn to platforms like WhatsApp, but with RCS, it could appeal to them as well (see video below for a demo).

The carriers are expected to launch the app/service on Android next year. There is no mention of iOS yet, but if they are truly hoping to create a cross-platform experience, then availability on iOS shouldn't be too far off.

Skip the Pixel 4 and get the Pixel 3 XL for $395

Google's Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones were recently announced, and while they are cheaper than the flagships we're seeing from the likes of Samsung, with a price tag starting at $800, they aren't exactly what you would call "cheap". If you're not willing to pay that kind of cash but still want the Pixel experience, how does last year's Pixel sound to you?

This is because if you don't mind buying last year's Pixel 3 XL, it is currently being sold on Amazon for a mere $395! That is about half the price of the current Pixel 4 and more than half the price of the Pixel 4 XL, and yes, we know it is last year's technology, but you know what, it is still more than capable of getting the job done.

That being said, we should note that this is a "renewed" device. This means that it has been bought and used by someone else before, but Amazon's suppliers have tested it and inspected it to make sure that it is in perfect working condition. They are also backed by Amazon's 90-day guarantee for renewed devices, so you can rest assured that if anything goes wrong, you have Amazon's guarantee to back you up.

Huawei will still get their chip designs from ARM

While Huawei is a company based in China, like many MNCs these days, Huawei does business with a myriad of companies from around the world, the US included. This also means that with the US ban being in effect, it does affect the company's ability to do business with US-based companies, which in turn affects the products that they put out.

This includes certain components that Huawei uses for its phones, but it seems that on the chipset front, Huawei can rest assured because ARM seems to be more than happy to continue working with them. In a statement provided to Engadget, ARM was quoted as saying:

"ARM can provide support to HiSilicon for the Armv8-A architecture, as well as the next generation of that architecture, following a comprehensive review of both architectures, which have been determined to be of non-U.S. origin."

This is actually an interesting turn of events because prior to this, ARM had issued a notice to its personnel, informing them to halt all their business dealings with the company. It is possible that ARM wanted to play it safe and explore their options before resuming business again.

Either way, this is good news for Huawei as it means that the company's own chipsets can continue to be designed and produced. Unfortunately, the jury is still out on Huawei's future regarding Google Play Services, although last we heard, the company is expected to develop their own apps and services as an alternative.

OnePlus attempts to troll Google over Pixel 4’s display, but it backfires spectacularly

If you have been following the news, you might have heard Google has caused a bit of controversy with the display of its Pixel 4 smartphones. Advertised as "Smooth Display", Google boasted that it had a 90Hz refresh rate, but according to recent discoveries, it was found that it wasn't always 90Hz.

It would actually switch between 90Hz and 60Hz depending on the display's brightness unless users were to manually enable 90Hz all the time in the developer options. Now, OnePlus thought that it would be a good idea to troll Google by posting a tweet about how its smartphones had a 90Hz refresh rate at all brightness levels, but the company has since deleted the tweet as it has backfired on them.

While it is true that OnePlus phones do have a 90Hz refresh rate display, it has been pointed out that this is because OnePlus actually has an option in its Android overlay where it would "force" the 90Hz refresh rate all the time. This means that technically, OnePlus would be in the same shoes as Google had that option not been enabled, and it is also why we imagine is the reason the company pulled its tweet.

Sometimes it can be pretty funny to see companies troll each other, but there is that saying about how people living in glass houses should not throw rocks. That being said, Google did issue a comment stating that they plan on introducing an update that would address the issue.

Huawei’s Harmony OS probably won’t replace Android anytime soon

A couple of months ago, Huawei announced their new operating system in the form of Harmony OS. This operating system was created partially in response to the possibility that one day, Huawei would no longer be able to use Android, but at the same time, it could also be used to power all manner of smart devices.

As it stands, the US ban on Huawei is still very much in effect, and as such, phones like the Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro do not come with Google Play Services installed, which some feel does cripple the phone somewhat. But does that mean that Huawei could be planning on putting Harmony OS into play soon?

Apparently not.

According to Huawei's President of Global Media and Communications, Joy Tan, she told MyDrivers that it will probably be years before Harmony OS would be a viable alternative to Android. Tan also suggested that at the moment, there are simply too many Android users who might not necessarily be willing to make the move to a different platform.

Instead, for the intermediate, Huawei plans on creating their own apps and services that could possibly compete with Google Play Services, so while Android will still be the main OS, hopefully Huawei's own apps and services can fill the gap Google left behind.

The RED Hydrogen successor is officially dead

RED is famous for making cinema cameras, which are used by almost every famous tech YouTuber on the platform. The company tried to get into the flagship smartphone market, but that endeavor was an absolute failure.

There were many reasons for the RED Hydrogen One's failure, and most of them were RED's fault. At launch the price was very high, the specs were a year outdated, the 3D screen was a gimmick with no content, the camera was not very good (ironic for a camera company), and the promised modules were not available at launch. It doesn't help that the launch was delayed multiple times

A year later, nothing has changed. Modules haven't launched, 3D content isn't much better, and there is absolutely no reason to own a Hydrogen One (unless you really love the hardware of course). A successor was announced earlier this year, but it looks that isn't happening after all.

Founder of RED Digital Cinema Jim Jannard posted to the Hydrogen forums talking about his retirement from the company. At 70 years old, we don't blame him! But his retirement also comes with the closing of the Hydrogen project. Though the current device will continue to receive support, a new device isn't coming.

"I have spent the past 45 years building "inventions wrapped in art".

Just now turning 70 and having a few health issues, it is now time for me to retire.

I will be shutting down the HYDROGEN project, ending a career that has included Oakley, RED Digital Cinema and HYDROGEN. I am very proud to have worked with many great people over the years who have signed on to the vision.

RED Digital Cinema will continue stronger than ever with Jarred, Tommy and Jamin at the controls. Komodo is about to be launched… and the HYDROGEN One will continue to be supported in the future.

I want to thank everyone for the support I have felt over the years…

Jim"

We're a bit sad about this, because RED showed promise and we need more innovation in the smartphone space. Hopefully we'll see RED come back to smartphones or even the mobile space in general in the future.

Pixel 4 versus Samsung Galaxy Note 10 camera comparison: is less really more?

Our Pixel 4 camera comparison series continues today with a matchup with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10. This year, Samsung has done a really good job delivering improved image and video quality and we love the fact that the phone features standard, telephoto and ultra-wide cameras on the back, giving you more options when capturing images than the Pixel 4 does since Google equipped its flagship device with only a standard and telephoto camera.

Pixel 4 vs Pixel 3 camera comparison: did it really get better?

But what we're most interested in is the performance of the cameras that these two phones come with. To do that, we captured more than 60 photos and videos from both phones and put them side-by-side so that you can easily see how they compare.

Pixel 4 camera specs

  • 12.2 MP, f/1.7, 28mm (wide), OIS
  • 16 MP, f/2.4, 45mm (2x telephoto), OIS
  • 8 MP, f/2.0, 22mm (selfie)
  • Video: 4k/30 (rear cameras), 1080/30 (selfie camera)

Samsung Galaxy Note10 camera specs

  • 12 MP, f/1.5-2.4, 27mm (wide), OIS
  • 12 MP, f/2.1, 52mm (2x telephoto)
  • 16 MP, f/2.2, 12mm (ultrawide)
  • 10 MP, f/2.2, 26mm (selfie)
  • Video: 4k/60 (rear camera), 4K/30 (selfie camera)

The video will show you side-by-side photos and videos captured from both the Pixel 4 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10, but we've also included the image gallery below as well. Let us know what you think of the results and which device you think is able to capture better photos and videos.
