It is widely believed that Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Fold 2 in 2020, but what kind of shape or design it will take is anyone's guess. Could it be that Samsung might adopt a design similar to the Huawei Mate X? Or could Samsung simply choose to refine the current design?
Or maybe, Samsung could be looking to try something else entirely. This seems to be a very real possibility because in a video Samsung shared on YouTube, it has sparked a media frenzy in which many are speculating that the company could have just teased the design of its next foldable phone.
This design is very different from the current Galaxy Fold's design because it is adopting a clamshell shape. This means that it will look like a flip phone from back in the day, except that it now comes with a foldable display on the inside. If you're wondering why this sounds familiar, it is because it is largely believed that Motorola could also be planning on launching a foldable phone with a similar design, one that we're actually pretty excited for.
As we mentioned in our earlier article, foldable phones are still new and they have the luxury of being something our smartphones are not, so why not go a bit crazy with the designs, right? In any case, Motorola's foldable phone is expected to be announced next month so we should have a better idea of what to expect then, and whether or not Samsung would be wise to pursue a similar design.
