Inbox by Gmail will shut down April 2nd

A few years ago, Google launched a new email platform called Inbox by Gmail. This initiative seems to have been prompted by other email apps such as Mailbox which help users achieve "inbox zero". Unfortunately, it seems that despite the platform's potential, Google has ultimately decided to shut it down.

This is actually not new as Google had previously announced their plans, but fell short of actually announcing a date. Now according to Inbox users, they claim that Google has since sent them messages informing them that the service will be coming to an end on the 2nd of April, which gives users about two weeks left of usage before they need to move back to Gmail.

For those who are unfamiliar with Inbox by Gmail, this is not a new email service but rather a platform where users could access their Gmail account. One of the unique features is its ability to automatically sort emails where it can detect which emails are together and group them accordingly, such as emails related to your upcoming trip, receipts of your online purchases, social media updates, and so on. It also allowed users to snooze emails and add reminders for them to check emails.

Google has since brought over some of those features to its normal Gmail platform so all is not lost. In any case, if you are an Inbox by Gmail user, it's probably a good idea to start using Gmail from here on out since you will have to eventually make the shift. That being said, who else is going to miss Inbox by Gmail? I know I can't be the only one.
