If you need to send someone an email and want to be sure that they receive it, one way to go about it is to send it to them while they are at the computer. This is because if they're the type of person who receives a ton of emails, it could get buried in the pile which means that they might either miss it or get to it later than you'd like.
This is where scheduling emails come in handy, where you can send it at an optimal time, such as when they get to work, and now it looks like email scheduling could soon be a feature of Gmail. In an APK teardown of the Gmail app, it was discovered that there are strings referencing email scheduling.
Based on the strings, it appears that users will be able to schedule emails at least 2 minutes from now, or less than 50 years from now, which basically gives users quite a huge range that they can choose from. Scheduled emails will have their send request sent to the cloud, which means even if your device is offline, the email will still be sent, which might be useful if you're traveling and don't have a stable connection on you.
Scheduling for Gmail has been in the works for a while now and was first discovered back in 2018, but this recent discovery suggests that Google is still very much working on it and hopefully we'll be able to see it soon.
