You can now (sort of) install Android on an iPhone

There is a lot to like about the iPhone, such as its build quality, design, and so on. That being said, you're here reading Phandroid for a reason, and that is because you love all things Android. So what if it was possible for you to use an iPhone but have it run Android, is that something you might be interested in?

If the answer is yes, then you are in luck because thanks to the hard work of developers in the Android community, they have launched what they are calling Project Sandcastle, an effort in which it will bring Android to iPhones.

Now before you get too excited, we should warn you that in its current state, which seems to be in the very early alpha stages, it is extremely limited in terms of compatibility where it pretty much only works with the iPhone 7. Also, a lot of the phone's functionality remains broken, such as the GPU, audio output, cellular modem, Bluetooth, and the camera.

If anything, this is more of a proof-of-concept at this stage where in theory, it shows that it is possible to install Android on the iPhone. We're not sure how long it would take for the developers to get everything working, but in the meantime, you can check out the video above to see Project Sandcastle in action. You can also head on over to its website if you'd like to check it out for yourself.
