As the coronavirus outbreak does not seem to be subsiding, it means that more people are going to be staying home to work and communicate with each other, instead of in-person. As such, more users will be relying on their phones more than ever, and for those who do not have unlimited data plans, don't be surprised if you blow through your data cap.
The good news is that if you're a T-Mobile customer, it seems that the carrier has announced that for the next 60 days, they will be upgrading all customers to an unlimited data plan. This means that you can go ahead and use as much data as you want (within reason, of course), and don't need to worry about hitting a cap (once again, within reason).
The carrier also expects that this will result in heavier network usage and to help ensure that traffic on its network remains smooth, T-Mobile has also announced that they have come to an agreement with several spectrum holders to free up additional 600MHz spectrum over this 60 day period, thus expanding network capacity for all of its customers.
Note that this will apply to not just T-Mobile, but MetroPCS which is also under T-Mobile. The carrier will also be doing its bid for schools and students under its EmpowerED digital learning programs, where they'll increase the data allowance by 20GB for free for the next 60 days.
