The Oppo Watch is here, and it looks very familiar

When it comes to smartwatches, Apple Watch is the smartwatch to beat. Oppo looks like they might have a worthy contender on their hands in the form of the recently-announced Oppo Watch.

In terms of design, this isn't the first time we've seen the Oppo Watch as the company had previously teased its look, although if this is the first time you're seeing it, you wouldn't be faulted if you thought that you were looking at the Apple Watch. But don't let the similarities in design fool you because it comes with a ton of features that Wear OS users might appreciate.

Starting with its display, Oppo has revealed that the Oppo Watch will be utilizing a 3D flexible hyperboloid display for the 46mm model, an industry first for smartwatches. The watch also boasts the use of Oppo's VOOC charging technology, which the company claims will be able to charge the watch up to 50% in just 17 minutes.

The watch will also use Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear 2500 chipset along with the Apollo 3 co-processor, and there is also support for eSIM which means that you don't need to keep your phone tethered to your watch all the time.

As expected from most smartwatches, the Oppo Watch also comes with a built-in heart rate sensor and there is also the inclusion of an ECG sensor, which save for the Apple Watch, isn't very common.

Like we said, while its design might be similar to the Apple Watch, it is still a watch worth checking out given its features. It also has a very attractive price starting at $215. The Oppo Watch is expected to launch in China and there is currently no word on when it will find its way to other markets.
