Coronavirus (COVID-19) by the numbers: track the stats and map the spread in real-time

We don't have to tell you that COVID-19 (aka coronavirus) has been dominating the news as of late. While the spread of the virus seems to be under control in China, it's continuing to spread across the globe with tens of thousands of new infections each day across the globe.

To help keep track of the virus' spread, Johns Hopkins University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering has created an interactive dashboard and map which breaks down real-time information provided by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.

The Coronavirus dashboard is built for desktop browsers, but it can also be accessed from your smartphone (though the layout is a bit cramped). Tapping or clicking on the expand icon for each section on the dashboard will expand your selection and give you a more detailed view.

Additionally, we've been keeping up with the spread of the coronavirus with the Worldometer's Coronavirus Dashboard which breaks down the numbers by country, giving you detailed statistical information each day, showing how the virus is spreading and how it is affecting each country differently.

While the number of people infected by the Corona Virus keeps increasing dramatically each day, the number of patients who have recovered from the Corona Virus is increasing as well. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected by the pandemic. We encourage you to practice social distancing an effort to help minimize the spread of the virus.
