The Black Shark 3 Pro from Xiaomi has officially been unveiled, sporting new hardware that will give users a true competitive advantage. Anyone who plays video games knows that a good controller makes all the difference when it comes to fast-paced games like first-person shooters. TO deliver the best gaming experience possible, the Black Shark 3 Pro features pop-up trigger buttons on the side of the phone which promise more than a million click and 300,000 lifts.
While that feature alone may have been enough stand out, Xiaomi has taken things even further with the phone's 7.1-inch, 3,120 x 1,440 AMOLED display which sports a 90Hz refresh rate and 270Hz touch sampling. On the inside, the phone uses the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC which also means it comes with 5G connectivity as well. To ensure the phone cam capitalize on the processor's full potential, Xiaomi has also beefed up the cooling system by placing cooling pipes on each side of the logic board to improve thermals.
The phone also comes with four cameras: a 64MP main camera, 13MP ultra-wide, 5MP depth sensor and a 20MP front-facing camera. To keep things powered up, the Black Shark 3 Pro uses a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging over USB-X or 18W charging with a magnetic popo-pin connection on the back. Like many other 2020 flagship smartphones, the Black Shark 3 Pro comes with 256GB of storage and 8GB or 12GB of RAM. The good news is that Xiaomi isn't interested in gauging customers for all this tech, setting the base price at 4,699 yuan ($675) while the 12GB model is slightly more expensive at 4,999 yuan ($718).
Xiaomi is also releasing a standard Black Shark 3 with a few minor tweaks. The phone swaps out the pop-up trigger buttons for capacitive ones and comes with a slightly-smaller 6.67-inch display, a 4,720mAh battery and 3,499 yuan ($502) and 3,999 yuan ($575) price points for its respective 8GB and 12GB models.
Both the Black Shark 3 Pro and the Black Shark 3 are available for pre-order with shipping dates expected for later this month.
