T-Mobile has just announced that it's $15/month 5G plan is rolling out today, a few weeks ahead of schedule. Originally, T-Mobile planned to release the $15 plan once the T-Mobile/Sprint merger gets the final seal of approval. But since millions of people are staying home, spending more time on the internet, T-Mobile wanted to get it out as quickly as possible to help those who may not have reliable or cheap internet options at home.
The new $15 5G plan isn't quite as good as T-Mobile's unlimited plans since it comes with a 2GB data cap before speeds get throttled, but users will get unlimited calling and texting included as well. Metro by T-Mobile is rolling out the same plan as well (for those who prefer the pre-paid option) which also includes a free eight-inch tablet (via rebate).
- For the next two months, Metro is offering a $15 plan – that's half the price of the current most affordable plan. For 60 days after customers activate, it's just $15 per month for unlimited talk and text plus 2GB of high-speed smartphone data.
- New and current Metro customers with any voice line can also get a free 8" tablet (via rebate redemption) with a $15 unlimited tablet data plan.*
- MetroSmart Hotspot devices will be half off, and the $35 per month data plan will include 20GB — double the normal monthly data — for the next 60 days.
