OnePlus 7 Pro versus ASUS Zenfone 6 camera comparison

In the past, if you wanted a smartphone with a good camera, you needed to pay top-dollar for a Samsung, Apple or Pixel smartphone. Those devices are still regarded as the leaders in the smartphone photography space, but it's becoming more common to find high-end cameras on smartphones that cost a lot less than $1,000. Case and point, the OnePlus 7 Pro and ASUS Zenfone 6 both feature multi-sensor cameras, including the new Sony 48MP sensor. The camera setup on the OnePlus 7 Pro is highlighted by its 48MP, f/1.6 main camera which also features laser autofocus and OIS. It also includes an 8MP telephoto, 3x zoom with an f/2.4 lens and OIS and a final 16MP sensor paired with a 13mm, f/2.2 ultra-wide lens. As for selfies, the phone features a pop-up 16MP camera with an f/2.0 lens.

Asus Zenfone 6 take a more simple approach, featuring only two cameras, both of which are on the back of the phone. The main sensor is the same 48MP one found on the OnePlus 7 Pro with a slightly slower f/1.8 26mm lens and laser autofocus while the second sensor captures images at 13MP with an f/2.4, 11mm ultra-wide lens. Since Asus left off a dedicated front-facing camera on the phone so that nothing interferes with its edge-to-edge display, it built the main cameras on the back of the phone into a unique, flip-up camera module which allows the camera to be used for front-facing photos and videos as well.

Take a look at the video above and image gallery below to see how the cameras on the Asus Zenfone 6 and OnePlus 7 Pro compare. Be sure to leave a comment and let us know which device you think captures better photos and videos.
