Earlier this year amidst the hype surrounding foldable phones from Samsung and Huawei, LG actually came forward to state that they do not have plans to launch such devices, claiming that it is "too early". Instead, LG opted to launch the LG V50 which came with an accessory that sort of made it into a foldable device with a detachable display.
LG has yet to officially confirm that they will be making foldable phones, but in the meantime, the company appears to be pushing ahead with smartphones with dual screens. This is according to a recent teaser that LG shared on YouTube in which the company hinted that they could have another dual-screen smartphone in the works.
There is no word on what this phone could be, but many are speculating that it could be the LG V60. This is an interesting strategy from LG as the company typically releases two flagships a year, but the launch of this device would make it the third. As to when the phone will be revealed, the teaser does mention that it will be taking place at IFA 2019.
We expect that more details should be shared soon leading up to the launch, but chances are we're probably looking at flagship hardware like either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or the 855+. In the meantime, LG has filed for several trademarks and patents which hint that the company could be looking to launch a foldable phone in the future.
