Android 10 will be the next major Android update that Google will be releasing this year. Its release date, so far, has yet to be confirmed, although we had previously assumed that it will most likely be alongside the Pixel 4 smartphones that are expected to be announced this coming October.
As it turns out, there is a chance Android 10 could be released much sooner than we thought. This comes on the heels of a report from PhoneArena who spoke to two Google Support agents, both of whom have confirmed independently that the update will be released on the 3rd of September.
We should point out that this release will be for the Pixel smartphones. As expected, Google's Pixel series of smartphones will be the first to receive the update and is actually one of the perks of owning a Pixel handset. There is no word on when other handset makers are expected to release the update, but last we heard, HMD Global is planning for a partial release in Q4 2019.
As to how accurate this information is, the trouble is that sometimes companies don't always sync information with customer service reps and that sometimes the information that these reps have might be outdated or wrong. Either way, we'll have our fingers crossed and we should have the official details next week, assuming that this information is accurate.
