When it comes to designing flagship phones, a lot of companies place a lot of emphasis on the phone looking good and choosing to use "premium" materials to construct the phone. We're not complaining, of course, but in turn this creates a problem: these phones typically are prone to scratches and can be cracked easily.
This is why many of us tend to hide our phones in cases, which kind of defeats the point of the design. That being said, if you're planning on buying the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ and don't want to put it in a case, then this drop test video by PhoneBuff is definitely worth taking a look at. The video pits the Note 10+ against the iPhone XS Max.
Now, both phones are obviously designed differently and feature different materials, but in case you do plan to walk around with a naked Note 10+, you might want to rethink that. This is because in the video, it shows that the Note 10+ seems to sustain considerably more damage when dropped compared to the iPhone XS Max when it falls on its back.
The good news is that when the phone is dropped on its front, the use of Corning's Gorilla Glass 6 seems to come in handy because the damage sustained looks considerably less than the iPhone XS Max. We don't suggest you test this out for yourselves, but it might be something to take into consideration if you plan on going caseless.
