The ASUS ROG Phone 2 is official and it packs some pretty incredible specs

Many are no doubt anticipating the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and the Google Pixel 4, but it looks like both phones are going to have to take a backseat because ASUS has since launched their latest flagship smartphone, the ASUS ROG Phone 2, which based on its official specs will give Samsung and Google a run for their money.

The ROG Phone 2 will be the latest gaming smartphone from ASUS. While the first ROG Phone did pack some decent hardware, the ROG Phone 2 is certainly making waves as it is the first smartphone to be using Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855+ chipset, a slightly upgraded version of the Snapdragon 855 with faster clock speeds.

Also, as previously promised, the handset will be coming with a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This puts it on par with handsets like the Razer Phone, while also beating out other branded handsets like the OnePlus 7 Pro. On top of the 120Hz refresh rate, the display will also support 10-bit HDR.

Other hardware features include the likes of front-facing stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra support, and with the use of a larger chamber, it is said to offer up louder audio compared to its predecessor. There are also a couple of built-in vibration motors that will provide directional haptic feedback when playing games.

ASUS has also included a second-gen AeroActive Cooler II that gamers can use to help keep their phones cooled during prolonged gaming sessions. It will also come with a whopping 6,000mAh battery that should last you quite a while. There is also a dual camera setup on the back that combines 48MP + 13MP sensors, and a front-facing 24MP sensor. There is no word on pricing just yet, but it should be roughly around the same price as its predecessor.
