The Pocophone F1’s spiritual successor is heading to Europe as the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro

The Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro was recently announced for China and India, sporting a flagship-tier spec sheet which was accompanied by an insanely low price point. While Xiaomi has not officially made an announcement, company executives in Russia and Poland have confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro will be making an appearance in both markets later in 2019. From what we can gather, the only thing that would be changing is the name of the device.

Based on the phone's spec sheet, the Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro and the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro are being referred to as the spiritual successor to last year's Pocophone F1. The specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, 6/8GB of RAM, 64/256GB of storage, a 4,000mAH battery, fast charging at 27W, an edge-to-edge 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensors, a 20MP pop-up selfie camera and a triple camera system on the back which includes a 48MP main camera with a standard lens, 13MP sensor with an ultra-wide lens and an 8MP sensor which is paired with a 2x telephoto lens.

The kicker is that the most expensive variant of the device is selling for CNY2,999 ($434 USD) in China. While the price would definitely be higher in Europe, it should still be cheaper than the standard OnePlus 7, making it a steal for anyone who's looking for a high-end phone at an amazing price.

At this point, Xiaomi is still expected to release the Pocophone F2 sometime this summer. The Pocophone F2 will likely be cheaper than the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro, mainly because it will feature cheaper build materials. It'll be interesting to see how Xiami positions these different devices in its lineup since the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro will already be offering incredible specs at an impressive value.
