The Nexus 6P was the very last smartphone under the Nexus brand and on hindsight, it was an important device for a couple of reasons. It showed that Google was starting to care about the camera quality of its smartphones, and it also showed the start of Huawei's camera advancements. Unfortunately, the launch of the handset was marred with issues that dogged it for years after, namely its bootloop issues which essentially rendered the handset useless.
There is some good news though because according to the reports, Google and Huawei have preliminary agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit filed against them, where pending court approval, could result in Nexus 6P owners claiming as much as $400 from both companies.
It should be noted that the claim for $400 is only for owners of the Nexus 6P who did not receive a Pixel XL under the warranty exchange program. For those who did exchange their phones for the Pixel XL, it seems that you will only be entitled to $10, but we suppose it's better than nothing.
Those who wish to file a claim and receive the full amount will need to provide proper documentation to show proof that they did indeed purchase the handset between September 25, 2015, and May 3, 2019. The claims are only open until September 3, 2019, and you can file it on this claims website that was opened up by the law firm that is handling the lawsuit.
In the meantime, if you want to know the nitty-gritty on what you need to do in order to file a claim that could entitle you to as much as $400, you can check out this document which explains the entire process.
