The notched design is a controversial design choice that you either love or hate. Some companies, such as OnePlus, tried to get its users to love the notch when they launched the OnePlus 6 back in 2018, which they continued to use with the OnePlus 6T. However, there is a chance that OnePlus themselves might no longer love it.
An image shared on Slashleaks has revealed what is allegedly the design of the OnePlus 7. It is pictured next to the OnePlus 6T where both phones are encased in a protective case designed to help hide their design. Assuming that the image is the real deal, right off the bat the OnePlus 7 could sport a much larger display. The photo also revealed another clue of the phone's design: the lack of a notch.
The OnePlus 6T has a water drop-shaped notch which is actually pretty small already, but the OnePlus 7 seems to have done away with it completely. In fact, the case features a section at the top that seems to be empty but yet has a cutout for what is presumably a front-facing camera and either an ambient sensor or a front-facing flash unit. The empty space seems to suggest that the OnePlus 7 could feature a slider design.
This could end up being similar to other handsets like the OPPO Find X or the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 if the leaks are true. Needless to say that this leak should be taken with a grain of salt for now, but for those who do not fancy the notch at all, then maybe the OnePlus 7 could be a phone to keep an eye out for.
