While Sony's smartphone presence in some markets might not be what it used to, we do still look forward to seeing what new smartphones the company has up their sleeves, and at MWC 2019, there is a good chance we could be learning more about the company's mobile phones for 2019.
Sony Mobile has recently started to send out invites to an event that they'll be hosting at MWC. The event will begin on the 25th of February where Sony will be livestreaming the event for those who will not be able to attend MWC in person. While the company does not explicitly mention what will be announced, some educated guesses are in order.
One of the phones that the company could announce is the Sony Xperia XZ4 where leaked benchmarks and components have indicated that the phone could be in the works. With it being a flagship smartphone, more than likely we will see it come with the Snapdragon 855 chipset and accompanied by 6/8GB of RAM, and maybe up to 256GB of storage which seems the norm these days.
It will be interesting to see how Sony plans on tackling the cameras on the phone, especially since Sony's sensors are used on a lot of smartphones. So far previous renders have hinted at a triple lens setup, but there's no guarantee that these leaks are accurate to begin with so it's probably best to take it with a grain of salt.
In addition to the Xperia XZ4, we can also probably expect to see some entry and mid-rangers as well, so be sure to check back with us next month for the official details.
