What do companies like Lenovo and ASUS have in common? Both of them are known for their computers. Both companies are also known for their gaming computers, and now it looks like both Lenovo and ASUS will be sharing something similar again: gaming smartphones.
In a post made on Weibo, Lenovo has teased the upcoming launch of a new gaming smartphone in the form of the Lenovo Legion (which is the brand they use for their gaming PCs). While Lenovo will definitely not be the first to the market with such device, the teaser image does seem to confirm that the phone could very well be the first gaming smartphone to come with 5G.
This is thanks to the use of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 chipset that will support 5G connectivity, and given that 5G has been touted as one of the ways to improve on mobile gaming, it really does seem like a match made in heaven. The teaser then goes on to claim that the phone will be taking advantage of LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.0 storage, and WiFi 6.
Unfortunately, apart from that, not much else is known about the phone, like its design, screen size, resolution, camera specs, and so on. Hopefully the company will be making an official announcement soon, so check back with us at a later date if you'd like the details.
