The Samsung Galaxy Fold has been relaunched. For those who haven't been following the news, the Galaxy Fold was initially slated for a release much earlier, but due to build quality issues with the review units, Samsung decided to go back to the board where they evaluated some of the phone's weak points and reinforced it.
By no means is the Galaxy Fold perfect and impervious to damage, and Samsung wants you to know that and they have since released a video titled, "Caring for your Galaxy Fold". The video basically walks users through the various components used to make the Galaxy Fold, such as its display and hinge, where it cautions users to be gentle with the phone during use.
They also caution users to keep the phone away from dust and water that could impact the way the hinge works. They also tell users to make sure that there are no magnetic objects near the phone either as it could interfere with the way the phone closes. It does sound like a lot of trouble to go through taking care of a phone, although given the price, we imagine that many are probably handling it with baby gloves to begin with.
We expect that over time as technology improves, so will the phone's durability, but for now if you are planning on dropping $2,000 for the handset, you might want to exercise some caution and restraint during its use.
In the meantime, if you're curious about how durable the new Galaxy Fold is, check out JerryRigEverything's new video above.
