Android 10 was recently released to the masses and if you are a Pixel handset owner, chances are you might have already received the update (although not without its issues). But what if you're not a Pixel owner? What if you're the owner of a Huawei smartphone? If you do own a Huawei handset, you'll be pleased to learn that the company has confirmed the Android 10 update roadmap for its smartphones.
This was announced towards the end of IFA 2019 where according to Huawei, the P30 and P30 Pro smartphones will actually be the first to receive the update. The company is aiming for a release in November, although when exactly is unclear. Following the P30 handsets, Huawei will then push the update out to the Mate 20 and Honor 20 series of smartphones in December.
Then in March 2020, the Huawei P30 Lite, P20, and the P20 Pro, and all the Mate 10 series of smartphones will be getting the update, followed by the rest of the eligible Huawei and Honor smartphones which will receive the update in the second quarter of 2020. The company does not mention which these phones are, so we'll have to wait and see.
We imagine that some Huawei users in the US might be a bit concerned regarding support of their phones, given that Huawei and the US government are currently at odds with each other. However, being placed on the Entity List applies to new products, and as it was previously mentioned, existing products will continue to be supported.
