Wireless Android Auto head units will be launching later this year

Cars have been getting a lot more technology in the last couple of years. Android Auto was a big deal for a while, but it has petered out a bit. One of the limitations of Android Auto is that you need to plug in your phone for it to work. That will finally be changing in 2018.

Wireless Android Auto was shown off at Google I/O in 2017. Now, it's finally coming to market thanks to 3rd party head units. JVC Kenwood is launching two new head units in 2018. They will have 720p touchscreen displays, but not much else is known about these devices.

There are a lot of advantages to wireless head units. It's much easier to connect your phone. All you have to do is get in the vehicle. You can also utilize fast charging while being connected to Android Auto. Fewer wires in your car is just generally a good thing. Expect to learn more about these devices at CES.
