It was only last week that the Android Oreo officially began rolling out to the OnePlus 5. The update was filled to the brim with new features an enhancements, not just from the base Android 8.0 firmware itself, but from a brand new version of OnePlus' specialty skin for their devices: OxygenOS 5.0.
Unfortunately, it seems the update wasn't quite ready for prime time as it's now officially been cancelled. OnePlus isn't providing the exact reason for why the update was abruptly pulled, but it seems a critical bug may have been found that needed to be addressed before the rollout could continue. Because of the nature of staged rollouts, not every OnePlus 5 device received the update before it was pulled, but it's likely that a few did.
OnePlus says the update has merely been delayed while they "work to improve the user experience," whatever that means. We'll let you know when we hear more.
