The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G is one step closer to launch

Samsung was quick to launch a second foldable phone in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip earlier this year. While it is cheaper than the Galaxy Fold, one of the features we wish it had given its price is 5G, but unfortunately was did not happen. There are rumors suggesting that a 5G variant could be in the works, it looks like we're one step closer to its launch.

According to a report from MySmartPrice, they have discovered a listing on TENAA (China's version of the FCC) for a handset with the model number SM-F7070. It is believed that this device could be the 5G version of the Galaxy Z Flip, and in addition to the phone's listing, the entry in the database also revealed some potential specs.

This includes how the phone could come with two batteries – a 2,500mAh battery and a 704mAh battery, which should give the phone a combined battery of 3,204mAh. It also mentions how the phone will come with two displays, a 1.05-inch display on the outside, and a 6.7-inch display on the inside with a resolution of 2,636 x 1,080.

While it might be easy to dismiss the device as the Galaxy Z Flip with 5G, it will come with a slight upgrade in processor, where the rumors are suggesting that it will most likely be packing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset which supports 5G. We can't confirm right now if the SM-F7070 is the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, so take it with a grain of salt, but if it is, then its sighting on TENAA would suggest that we are close to its launch.
