In the days of the feature phone, batteries that lasted users' days on end were pretty common. These days when it comes to smartphones, there aren't many phones that would last more than a couple of days at most, but that's something that Samsung is hoping to address with its next flagship.
According to a recent sighting by GalaxyClub.nl, they have spotted a battery that was recently certified by South Korea's SafetyKorea agency. The battery carries the model number EB-BG988ABY and according to the sighting, packs 5,000mAh worth of juice.
We can't be 100% sure if this is the battery that could find its way into next year's flagship handset, the Samsung Galaxy S11+, but we wouldn't be surprised if it did. Also, if accurate, it represents Samsung's biggest battery in a flagship phone to date. At the moment, the biggest battery in Samsung's flagship is a 4,500mAh battery found in the Galaxy S10 5G while both the Galaxy S10+ and Note 10+ pack 4,100mAh and 4,300mAh batteries respectively.
Hopefully, the larger battery life will afford users a couple of days of usage before it runs out of juice, but we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, other leaks have revealed the potential design of the Galaxy S11 phones, where it seems that the phone could be packing a massive camera module and maybe a new display called SAMOLED.
