Huawei P40 specs revealed in new leak

The Huawei P40 will be launching next year and given Huawei's success with its P-series of smartphones, there is no doubt that many are keeping an eye on the device. Now thanks to leakster Yash Raj Chaudhary, it seems that he has managed to get his hands on the device and has shared information about it in a series of tweets.

According to his tweets, the P40 smartphone could be quite a beast. He claims that the phone will be sporting a 6.5-inch 2K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, the latter of which sounds rather promising as for the most part, we're only seeing 90Hz refresh rates in this year's smartphones.

The phone is also expected to feature Leica Penta Cameras and could apparently sport a 5,500mAH battery. If true, this could give Samsung a run for their money because last we heard, the Galaxy S11+ might only be packing a 5,000mAh battery. According to Chaudhary, this is due to Huawei "innovatively applying" graphene materials to both the positive and negative electrodes and electrolytes of mobile phone batteries, thus allowing it to reach an even larger capacity than before.

Now, this goes without saying that this information should be taken with a grain of salt for now. There is no way of knowing if his information is accurate, so don't get your hopes up just yet. Also, there is the issue of the trade war between the US and China which has resulted in Huawei being banned from doing business with US companies.

The Huawei Mate 30 series was the first casualty where it was launched without support for Google Play Services, so we have to wonder that even with these amazing (alleged) specs, without Google Play Services, will the P40 series still be an attractive purchase?
