When OnePlus was first launched, it was dubbed the flagship killer mainly due to its price, where it was priced at a fraction of what your average smartphone would cost. Unfortunately, that was not necessarily a philosophy that OnePlus stuck with because over the years, the company has increased the price of its phones.
That might change in 2020 where according to a series of renders published on 91mobiles that were created by @OnLeaks, it has been suggested that OnePlus could be working on a new model for 2020 known as the OnePlus 8 Lite. The OnePlus 8 is expected to be launched in 2020, but if these rumors are accurate, we could be getting one more model in the "Lite" form.
In terms of specs, we're not sure what we can expect, but presumably with it being a "Lite" model, it will most likely come with a lower price tag compared to the regular OnePlus 8. The company had previously attempted to create a mid-range smartphone with the OnePlus X several years ago, but that experiment came to a swift end when the company decided that they would only move forwards with flagship handsets.
Now, to be fair, OnePlus phones are still cheaper by a few hundred dollars compared to most flagship smartphones, but at its current prices, we imagine that it's getting harder to convince the public to choose their phone over other brands. Take it with a grain of salt, but hopefully we'll have more details soon.
