The Android 9 updates for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T are now available, delivering a slew of new features. An Android update this far into 2019 would typically be met with a bit of mudslinging, but the OnePlus 3 and 3T are a unique case since both phones hail from 2016 and were originally slated to be updated through Android O. OnePlus has now delivered three full Android updates to the two phones, showing its competitors that it's definitely possible to support Android devices for more than two updates.
Since the OnePlus 3 and 3T turn three years old this year, we were curious to know how many of these phones are still in circulation. Based on our site's analytics data, the OnePlus 3 and 3T account for 1.5% of traffic from mobile devices to our site or 16% of all traffic from OnePlus devices. That may not sound like a lot, but we suspect it adds up to nearly a million devices that are still be used across the globe.
If you're among those who still use the OnePlus 3 or 3T, make sure you check your notifications for the software update. Let us know how the update process goes and be sure to let us know which new features of the update you enjoy the most!
