Samsung and LG tipped to announce new smartphones at CES 2018, but these aren’t what you are expecting

As we near the end of 2017, our email inboxes are flooding with emails regarding the first big technology conference of 2018, CES 2018. We have been hearing rumors and seeing leaks regarding which devices will be making an appearance, and it seems that Samsung and LG have some new devices in store for the event.

No, these won't be the flagship devices that you were hoping to see, but instead, two new entries into the mid-range market. Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy A8 lineup which will likely be undergoing a design overhaul to make it look more like the Galaxy S8.

The device is expected to feature an 18:9 display, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The processor itself is unknown at this time, but we are sure it will be another Samsung Exynos offering. However, what will separate this from Samsung's flagship lineup is that the device will not feature a dedicated Bixby button, although it will have support for Bixby built into the software.

As for LG, the company is expected to unveil the LG K10 (2018), which is likely to offer a more traditional design with a standard 16:9 display. The device is also expected to feature 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a decent 3,000mAh battery. However, the K10 (2018) is also expected to feature LG Pay, which is finally making its way to devices after launching early last year.

Unfortunately, it seems that Samsung and LG will be waiting a bit longer before unveiling their 2018 flagship devices. Nonetheless, we'll have to wait until CES gets underway before assuming anything for sure.
