The Huawei Mate SE launches in the US with more RAM and storage than the Honor 7X

Earlier today, we learned that Honor is beginning to roll out Android Oreo to owners of the Honor 7X in the US. However, the fun isn't stopping there as a brand-new Huawei device is now available here in the States.

The Huawei Mate SE is a rebranded version of the Honor 7X, meaning you get the best of the design offered by Honor's device, but the Mate SE packs a bit more of a punch. The Mate SE features a 5.93-inch FHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, along with Huawei's HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset.

However, the changes start in the RAM department, as the Mate SE is packed with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of base storage (compared to 3GB and 32GB, respectively). Additionally, the same dual-camera setup is available on the Mate SE with a primary 16MP sensor and a secondary 2MP sensor. On the front, Huawei has packed an 8MP selfie camera, with included sticker effects "which are applied in real-time".

On the power side of things, the Mate SE features a substantial 3,340mAh battery, which will hopefully be able to keep you rolling through the day with no problems. Another great feature comes in the form of the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, which can unlock the device in just 0.2 seconds, along with being used to take pictures.

While the Honor 7X is priced at $200, the Mate SE is a bit pricier, with a price of just $229. This means for $30 more, you get Huawei's branding, along with an extra 1GB of RAM and extra 32GB of storage.
