We're still not sure what, exactly, to expect from the HTC U12 just yet aside from seeing an unannounced device that may or may not have been a prototype. HTC themselves will likely be hush for details until it's ready to go official, but more info about their 2018 flagship is starting to eke out.
Said to be arriving as soon as April, word is that the HTC U12 will be hiding a Snapdragon 845 chipset beneath its skirt. That'll be coupled with a memory configuration that could go as high as 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
Other purported details include the use of a 5.99-inch display with QHD+ resolution (suggesting a taller form factor), dual 12MP and 16MP cameras, and a face unlock feature, all being driven by Android 8.0 Oreo.
HTC seemingly has a lot riding on this launch, what with the company laying off a significant portion of its US staff and undergoing some corporate shuffling to help get things realigned. We're not certain the HTC U12 alone can be the breadwinner that rights their ship, but it's the best shot they have.
