Huawei confirms plans for the Huawei Watch 3, no release date announced

While all of the new smartphones have been making their rounds at MWC 2018, there were some that thought we could see some new smartwatches. One company that could have made a splash with a new smartwatch is Huawei, who released the Huawei Watch 2 at MWC 2017.

Instead, Huawei decided to hold off on unveiling a new smartwatch, and according to TechRadar, we may have to wait awhile. Huawei's CEO Richard Yu confirmed that while the Watch 3 is in development, the company is "in no hurry to release it".

The reason for this comes thanks to the fact that Huawei is still experiencing success in the sales department for the Huawei Watch 2. While Huawei unveiled a few "minor" products at MWC 2018, the company is shifting gears to its event on March 27th in Paris.

Huawei will be unveiling its latest flagship lineup of devices, likely to fall under the Huawei P20 moniker. It's highly unlikely that Huawei would announce a new smartwatch at the same time, so we'll have to keep waiting to see what's in store.

Let us know if you would be interested to see a new smartwatch from Huawei, or if you are a fan of the Watch 2. If you were looking to pick up a new smartwatch, the Huawei Watch 2 is currently on sale from Amazon for $239, a savings of more than $60.
