One of the benefits Apple has long had over Android manufacturers is the simple fact they brick and mortar stores. This allows Apple to not only sell product and provide support, but to physically repair devices should something go awry.
Google knew this and it's likely a big reason why they teamed up with uBreakiFix for the original Pixel launch to offer same-day phone repairs in the event of accidental damage. This was also carried over to the recently released Pixel 2 but now a new Android manufacturer is getting in on this deal and it could be UBreakiFix's biggest partner yet.
Samsung announced today that they too will be teaming up with the guys at UBreakiFix to offer same-day Galaxy repairs at their 3,000+ stores across the US. The service doesn't kick off until tomorrow, March 15th, but once it's live you'll be able to bring your broken Galaxy S6/S6+, S7, S7 Edge, S8/S8+, S9/S9+ and even the Galaxy Note 5 and 8.
Because UBreakiFix is now an authorized Samsung Care repair location, they'll be using Samsung approved repair methods and parts. This covers warranty repairs or accidental damage like a broken screen or back glass (for an added cost, of course). You can either call to schedule an appointment, or drop your phone off. We went through the entire process with our original Pixel — swapping out the white display for a black one — and the whole process was competed the same day.
