WhatsApp Dark Mode for Android is finally coming!

WhatsApp, the most popular messaging app on the planet, is finally getting a Dark Mode setting! While we've seen the same feature roll out to thousands of popular Android apps over the years, WhatsApp is finally jumping on board after Google's full embrace of Dark Mode with the release of Android Q last fall.

We know that there are plenty of Android users who have never even turned on dark mode on their phone or manually inside an app, but this news will be well-received by those who simply must have dark mode turned on at all times.

To be clear, the WhatsApp Dark Mode setting is currently only available for WhatsApp Beta users, the inclusion of the new feature indicated that the general public will see an official rollout sometime soon. New features released to the beta typically take anywhere from a few weeks to a month before the WhatsApp team releases them to the billions of users across the globe who use the app to communicate on a regular basis.

Dark Mode in the WhatsApp Beta can currently be implemented in a variety of ways. Users can choose to turn the feature on at all times, tie it the Android Q's system-wide dark mode setting or allow it to only be triggered when the phone goes into power-saving mode to help conserve battery life.

Once the WhatsApp Dark Mode starts rolling out to the main app, we'll be sure to let you know.
