LG has been under fire for its lack of innovative design for a number of years and if these LG G9 renders from Cashkaro are to be believed then 2020 isn't the year they are turning things around. To be clear these are CAD renders based on leaked info, so some of the design similarities may be attributable to assumptions by the renderer.
There are no details to be had about what is going on inside the phone, so LG could still surprise us with something on this device, but the teardrop front-facing camera and quad camera display across the back trap this device in 2018-2019. The screen is virtually bezel-free, but again this doesn't really set it apart.
On the plus side, another unchanged bit of design from the G8 is the inclusion of a headphone jack. LG basically stands alone at this point with a focus on high-quality audio in its flagship.
Presumably, we are going to be looking at an under-screen fingerprint reader and the only other details visible based on the renders are a power button and volume buttons on the right side and USB-C along the bottom.
Now, fortunately, LG does have some interesting things in the works, so while we would love to see them get a little more creative with the flagships, the G9 is probably going to be a solid option if they can hit a decent price point.
