LG Watch W7 to debut alongside the LG V40

If you've been waiting for a new Wear OS smartwatch from LG, we have some good news for you. Evan Blass has just shared that the rumored LG Watch Timepiece will launch alongside the LG V40 as the LG Watch W7.

As detailed in earlier leaks, the LG Watch W7 is expected to be identical to the LG Watch Timepiece — a hybrid watch running Wear OS while also featuring traditional mechanical watch hands to tell time. Originally, the watch was set to launch this past spring, but the device was never unveiled. The LG Watch Timepiece (which we will now refer to as the Watch W7) measures in at 45.5 x 45.4 x 12.9 mm which is bigger than the LG Watch Style, but still smaller than the LG Watch Sport. The 240 mAh will provide up to 100 days of battery life when "Watch Mode" is enabled and roughly 100 hours of battery life when Wear OS is fully enabled. The main watch face will be displayed on a 1.2-inch (360 x 360 pixels) LCD display and the body of the phone will be wrapped in stainless steel with IP68 dust and water resistance.

The leak from April claimed that the LG Watch W7 would feature 768MB of LPDDR3 RAM and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 2100, but there's a chance that the process could be upgraded to the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 3100 which was unveiled earlier this month. There's no evidence to back up this claim, but it could be the reason why LG chose to delay the launch of the smartwatch in the first place.

The LG Watch W7 is said to come with a basic 22mm silicone rubber strap, but users will be able to swap it out for any 22mm band of their choice. Rumor has it that LG is also planning a special edition of the watch which will come with a metal band and a special charging cradle for the Watch W7.

Now that we know LG has a new launch date scheduled for the LG Watch W7, we expect to see a few more leaks trickle in before the Wear OS smartwatch is officially unveiled alongside the LG V40 next month.
