Xiaomi is one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers on the planet, but the company is still trying to make a name for itself in Europe. The company hopes to change that by introducing the Xiaomi Black Shark gaming smartphone to nearly 30 countries across Europe starting on November 16.
For those not familiar with the Xiaomi Black Shark, the gaming-centric smartphone features a dedicated gamepad accessory and an internal liquid cooling which is able to keep the Snapdragon 845 SoC running 8 degrees Celcius cooler than other phones do. This unique internal hardware allows the Xiaomi Black Shark to run a peak performance, allow users to play 3D games at their maximum frame rate. The phone is also equipped with 6 or 8GB of RAM, 64 or 128GB of internal storage, a 6-inch 1080 x 2160 display, a dual camera on the back with 12MP and 20MP sensors, a 20MP selfie camera and a 4,000 mAh battery.
The most surprising thing about the Xiaomi Black Shark is that it runs Stock Android with only a few minor tweaks. Xiaomi has included a custom gaming mode called "Shark Space" which turns off those pesky notifications and cleans up the RAM on the phone before launching your game. If you're not impressed with the specs or the stock build of Android, the phone's base price of $480 (in China) may change your mind. Xiaomi has not revealed the price for the European debut of the Xiaomi Black Shark, but we wouldn't be surprised if the phone does on sale for less than €500.
The Xiaomi Black Shark will be available in the following countries through the Xiaomi Black Shark website: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the UK.
